Ongoing Issues of January 2015
Centro de Servicios begins the year by reaching out and supporting the City Services Academy.
We encourage Union City residents or employees of a Union City business to apply to the City Services Academy. In this way, they can learn about the financial, legal and social elements that impact the city services, the role community plays in the city policy and practice, and much more.
Completed applications must be submitted by January 19, 2015. For more information, including special requirements please contact [email protected] with "City Services Academy Applicant" in the subject line.
As part of our outreach, Centro de Servicios will participate and host a booth to share information about our services at the Union City Kids' Zone Grand Opening Event on Saturday, January 24th from 11 AM-3 PM at UCKZ-Barnard White Middle School campus (725 Whipple Road, Union City), see the Calendar on this page.
2014 Summary
Centro de Servicios put on many programs in the course of 2014 but one of the most notable was a Free Immigration Forum.
The Nov. 4th, it was co-sponsored by Immigration Attorney, Spojmie Nasiri. The community showed great interest in learning about the DMV license requirements for undocumented drivers starting on January 15, 2015.
The attorney touched several other topics such as U-Visa information, VAWA (Violence Against Women Act, DACA Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and DACA Renewal.
Centro appreciates everyone who took the time to attend and look forward to having another one soon. The next forum date will be posted shortly.
